Objectives

General objectives

The Risk Code Project aims to study the frequency, risk factors (epidemiological, clinical, neuropsychological and biological) of suicide attempts and repeat suicide attempts; it also aims to analyse the implementation, effectiveness and costs of the CSRC Programme, as well as to design personalised suicide risk prediction scores for the indicated prevention of suicidal behaviours.

Specific objectives

Epidemiological study

  1. To estimate the population incidence of suicide attempts, repeat suicide attempts, and suicide in Catalonia.
  2. To identify the individual- and population-level risk factors for suicidal behaviour.
  3. To develop a personalised risk score system for suicidal behaviour and repeated suicide attempts.
  4. To assess the implementation of the CRS programme, its effectiveness and cost-effectiveness.

Clinical study

  1. To identify the sociodemographical, clinical, neuropsychological and biological risk factors for repeat suicide attempts.
  2. To analyse the biological differences related to the stress response (psychoneuroendocrine, inflammatory, genetic and neuroimaging markers) between persons making a suicide attempt and persons making a repeat suicide attempt.
  3. To analyse the biological differences related to the stress response (psychoneuroendocrine, inflammatory, genetic and neuroimaging markers) between persons making a suicide attempt, persons repeating a suicide attempt and persons with no prior suicidal behaviour.
